My new exciting product
I was given a great idea by an old friend whilst we were at a meeting. I had been wondering for ages how to get my inspiring messages to a wider audience. He simply turned to me and said, why do you not just write something once and sell to many. What a simple concept, that I had completely not considered!!! It was a real Doh! moment.
One of my very close friends is an amazing photographer and I asked him to send me a beautiful woodland scene to try out my new idea of combining beautiful words with amazing photography. I was going to produce these as posters in the conventional sense, however, on speaking with a very dynamic printer, he suggested that I try a new media of reusable wallpaper. So this is what I have done. The wallpaper can be moved around 100 times, cannot be torn, can be wiped clean and will not damage wall surfaces so can be used in the home and office with total confidence.
Here is my first example, of which I am very proud.
It is my intention to have lots of images and texts that people can order , as I know that I often like one design but in a different colour for example so I am going to give my customers the choice to have the inspiring pictures and words that speak to them directly in whatever combination they choose.
Whispers heard above the trees
That hint of our abilities,
Why are we so quick to doubt
When all that we should do is shout:
I can! I will! Just let me do
All that I am able to.
So do not fear and hide away,
Just stand up tall and face the day,
And know that all you want to do
You can achieve, believe it’s true,
And miracles will happen, see
Your dreams become reality.
So never doubt and live in fear.
Just know that all you want is near.
Please don’t delay or hesitate,
There really is no need to wait.
So just remember that to see
Your dreams, belief it is the key.
How I write poems
People are often asking me how I write my poems and I thought it might be nice to give a little insight.
I started writing poems when I was about 13. It was something that just came naturally to me. I remember when I was at school sitting in an English lesson and the teacher asking us to write a poem about a Highwayman. The class groaned and my classmates sat in front of blank sheets of white paper, their heads in their hands, pencils tapping out bored beats on the wooden desks.
I on the other hand, excitedly started writing. Stanza after stanza just poured out effortlessly onto the paper. I didn't even feel smug, I was enjoying myself, I had found something that I could do.
When I was 14 my closest friend submitted one of my poems to the local newspaper without me even knowing and it was published. I was so proud.
I wrote sporadically in my teens and then stopped until about 8 years ago. I then started writing poems as gifts for friends for birthdays and special occasions.
Combining poetry and readings
I'd been brought up by a mother who was psychic, the gift passed down the female line of her family, and as such had always had an interest in the spiritual and esoteric. I'd been classed as ’weird’ at school, called a witch, you know the sort of thing?
I didn't care though. I'd known that I was 'different' since the age of about 3. I'd not really given readings as such but was often asked for my advice on matters and for what I thought would happen. Invariably I tended to be proved right. Still the penny didn't drop!!
It wasn't until I started to learn the Tarot that the poems started to come to me as very fast downloads. The Tarot never really resonated with me, I did try to persevere and I can give Tarot readings but the poems seemed much more important and poignant.
Thus Soul Verse was born. I now solely (no pun intended) give my readings in poetry form. They're like snapshots of a story of the sitters life.
They just get downloaded to me, often very fast. I am given a picture in my head and then the words just spill out onto the page. I couldn't tell you what is written afterwards so I have to get them down quickly.
Sometimes the messages come to be at the most inappropriate times, like when I'm in the shower or driving and I just have to stop what I'm doing, and start writing. I do pull over first if I'm driving though!!
